It is one of the few colleges in Panjab University which has upgraded the classrooms to facilitate teaching through modern tools and techniques. A learning environment is a combination of social and physical qualities that create the classroom experience. It includes classroom management procedures, as well as the way the space is organized, furnished and maintained. Smart classrooms improve the comprehension skills of the students.

The internet facility of 100Mbps dedicated fiber optical line has been provided in college. The entire Administrative Block, Girls’ Hostel and the entire Computer Science Block are Wi-Fi enabled.
The college dispensary delivers free medicines to the staff and students. In addition to this the college has an arrangement with Dr. Sham Sunder Nursing Home, who attends emergency cases and visits the students at regular intervals.
The college has a separate parking lot in the campus, near gate no. 1 for students. For regulating entry, parking stickers are issued to the bone-fide users.
The college has also outsourced a photocopier outlet to provide photocopy, printing, compiling and binding facilities to the students and staff. The outlet opens on all working day during college hours.
Keeping the goal of empowerment of women in sports, SDCW boasts of the availability of indoor stadium and gymnasium which are open to the students.
The construction of a spacious modern, well-furnished canteen has added to the glory of the college building in its premises. Menu list along with rates is displayed in the canteen. Facilities like pure water, dustbin and suggestion box are also provided. The canteen committee ensures that gloves and caps are worn while preparing meals. Hygienically prepared eatables are provided to all the students at reasonable rates. All the edible items served and sold therein are inspected by the committee. SDWC boasts of 50 kilowatts peak Roof Top Solar Power Plant which is the only biggest panel in the district. It is a step towards energy conservation.
